Victorian mansion: Kitchen, Livingroom

I've advanced and decided to go with the classic victorian style of "one dominant color in the room". Here's the livingroom:

And the kitchen:

I particulary liked the contrast of colors and textures in the kitchen, mixing both a modern style but also being kind of conservative.

Victorian mansion: Library

Okay, so here's a preview of how the library is looking right now (and it will probably stay that way despite minor changes!)

I had to use the "acrostacking" technique for the curtains to properly fit into the windows since we have no option to move these up and down the wall like in Sims 2. (see acrostacking).
Here are a couple of pictures showing the before-and-after:

Regular curtain height:

After acrostacking:

I did the same for the two-squares-length windows.

I hope you guys liked it! I'll keep working on this project.

Project: Victorian Mansion. An introduction.

I already had kind of an idea of what I want this mansion to look like. I've already built the outdoors. Indoors is still a mess of uncolored walls and unfloored squares. The only thing nearly finished is the basement. The garden is something that took lots of work, specially because it wasn't planned in the first place, so I had to do magics for everything to fit in.
Back when I started building this mansion I was too lazy to start with foundation, so even though they would fit wonderfully with the classical victorian architectury, there will be none of that.

I'll show you now the rough divisions of the house.

First floor:

As you can see, it looks awkwardly incomplete, of course. But the idea is there.

Second floor:

Also pretty messy, but I think the rooms layout is pretty neat.

Basement:

I admit I've payed way more attention to the basement and it looks way more complete than the other floors. Actually adjusting the basement's wall for everything to fit was quite hard too.

Here's what there is for now.

Introduction

Hi there! I enjoy both playing Sims 3 and I also do enjoy building (perhaps even more than playing itself). I do own besides of the basegame the following expansion packs: World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets and Supernatural.
Here I'm gonna post as I advance in my projects, as well as explanations. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Happy simming!
